01Client-Side Processing & Zero-Storage Architecture
Grade Calculator (accessible at gradecalculatortest.com) operates as a static client-side web utility. Unlike conventional web applications that transmit form data to an API endpoint for database storage, every calculation—including weighted averages, semester grade combinations, test points, and final exam requirements—is executed directly by the JavaScript runtime inside your personal web browser.
Closing the tab, refreshing the page, or clearing your session clears temporary in-memory calculation rows from your browser session unless explicitly cached locally on your device.
02Information We Do Not Collect
To reinforce academic confidentiality, we explicitly avoid collecting:
- Academic Records: Course names, assignment titles, scores, percentages, credit hours, and GPA targets.
- Personal Identifying Information (PII): Student names, student identification numbers, school affiliations, dates of birth, or email addresses (unless voluntarily submitted via our Contact form).
- Account Credentials: We have no sign-in requirements, login passwords, or student profile tracking.
03Cookies & Local Storage Usage
We keep local data storage strictly functional and minimal:
- Display Theme: We use your browser’s
localStorageAPI solely to preserve your visual theme preference (e.g.theme = "dark"for True OLED Black mode ortheme = "light"). This key contains zero personal data and remains exclusively on your hardware. - Cookies: We do not deploy first-party tracking cookies or marketing profiling cookies. Any third-party infrastructure providers (such as CDN security or DDoS mitigation) may set essential session cookies purely to guarantee uptime and defend against automated attacks.
04Standard Web Server Logs
Like virtually all web properties, our hosting infrastructure automatically captures standard HTTP/HTTPS request logs when files (HTML, CSS, SVG icons) are requested. These diagnostic logs may include:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address (truncated or anonymized where supported)
- Browser user-agent string and operating system version
- Referring web page and requested URI path
- Date and timestamp of request
These operational logs are reviewed in the aggregate strictly for diagnosing server errors, mitigating security incidents, and monitoring bandwidth delivery.
05FERPA, COPPA & Student Privacy Compliance
Because Grade Calculator does not solicit student identities, maintain user accounts, or store education records on central servers:
- FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): We do not act as an education record repository. Student privacy is inherently safeguarded by our stateless, client-side computing architecture.
- COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act): Grade Calculator does not knowingly collect personal contact information from children under the age of 13. Anyone may use the grading tools anonymously without disclosing their identity.
06Third-Party Links & External Services
Our website may occasionally link to educational resources, university grade policies, or external web tools. We do not exercise operational control over external websites, and visiting those links is governed by their respective privacy declarations.

All web traffic to Grade Calculator is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). This guarantees that the calculator code delivered to your browser cannot be intercepted or modified in transit.
